For women who crave connection, are culturally curious, and seek creativity and inspiration.
May 15-22, 2027
A Creative Journey Into the Heart of Alentejo.
There are places that inspire you, and there are places that quietly awaken something within you.
Step into a slower, more intimate side of Portugal on our Alentejo Creative Retreat, where art, craftsmanship, food, and culture come together in one unforgettable experience.
Our home base is Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with centuries of history and character. From here, we’ll venture beyond the familiar tourist paths into the quieter corners of Alentejo, discovering the traditions, artisans, and hidden places that give this region its soul.
Alentejo has a remarkable heritage of textile and craft traditions from hand-woven blankets and intricate embroidery to lace, pottery, and tapestries that can take months to complete. During our retreat, you’ll have the rare opportunity to meet local artisans in their workshops and homes, learn about techniques passed down through generations, and try your hand at some of these beautiful crafts yourself.
Along the Way, You’ll Experience:
A local market tour followed by shopping for fresh ingredients and a traditional cooking experience in a Portuguese home
Pottery workshop where you’ll explore the region’s rich ceramic traditions
Olive farm visit, lunch & tasting featuring traditional Alentejo foods and locally produced olive oil
Embroidery workshop introducing you to time-honored Portuguese techniques
Cork experience where you’ll discover how Portugal’s cork is transformed into beautiful products such as handbags, wallets, and homewares
Traditional weaving workshop inspired by Alentejo’s centuries-old textile heritage
Authentic Portuguese dining, from relaxed family-style meals to memorable meals at some of Alentejo’s best local restaurants
This is more than a creative retreat. It’s an invitation to slow down, become curious, and connect with a part of Portugal that many travelers never get to see. You’ll leave with new skills and beautiful memories, as well as a deeper appreciation for the people who are keeping these extraordinary traditions alive.
